I'm Grant, a software developer from Yorkshire. Most of my time goes on PHP and Laravel, usually somewhere inside a codebase that's been running longer than anyone can quite remember, working out why it does what it does and then keeping it that way. Whatever's left over goes on personal projects nobody but me will ever see.
I read a lot more than I write. Blogs, release notes, whatever's scrolling past on socials, anything moving in the PHP and Laravel world. I've put a bit back too: a few contributions to the Laravel documentation, and one to the framework itself that Laravel News picked up. I'd quite like to do more.
Away from the keyboard I'm the usual sort of geek. Gadgets, the PS5 and Xbox, more camera gear than I have any real use for, and a 3D printer. Not really interested in sport apart from the snooker, and the Olympic Taekwondo, which I watch mainly so I can shout "I used to train with them!" at the TV. Love anything sci-fi. Have been known to spend an hour or two playing World of Warcraft.
I have a weakness for champagne and the occasional Michelin star.
