I'm Grant, a software developer from Yorkshire. I spend most of my time in PHP and Laravel — usually somewhere in the middle of a codebase that's been running longer than anyone quite remembers, working out why it does what it does and then making sure it keeps doing it. The rest goes on personal projects nobody but me will ever see.
I read more than I write: blogs, release notes, social posts, anything moving in the PHP and Laravel world. I've put a bit back, too — a handful of contributions to the Laravel framework and its documentation, and would like to do more.
Away from the keyboard I'm a typical geek: gadgets, the PS5 and Xbox, more camera gear than I know what to do with, and a 3D printer. Sport mostly passes me by, bar the snooker — and the Olympic Taekwondo, which I'll watch just to shout "I used to train with them!" at the TV. Sci-fi always wins.
I have a weakness for champagne and the occasional Michelin star.
